VOGO, a South Korean private shipbuilding company, is attending the ADAS 2022 defence show to tap the Philippine market for its Wing-In-Ground effect (WIG) craft.
The South Korean company sees an opportunity for its product to be widely used in the Philippines due to the country’s geographical condition.
With its unique construction, VOGO’s WIG 1200 vehicle is able to travel 3 meters above the sea surface and reach a maximum speed of 220 km/h while carrying 12 passengers. It also has the ability to make a “jump” to a maximum altitude of 100 meters to avoid obstacles and has a maximum range of around 1,500 km.
Powered by two automotive engines each delivering about 430 hp of power, VOGO is also confident that the operating cost of its WIG 1200 will be much lower since there will be no need for specialized engine maintenance.
Aside from its WIG 1200, VOGO is also looking to market its hovercrafts with seating capacity ranging from 9 to 20 passengers.
