What’s in a Name?

Aviation and defence group EADS is rebranding as Airbus Group. In future, all its operations will carry the recognisable Airbus name, but will be split into commercial, defence and space, and rotary divisions.

Airbus will focus on commercial aircraft activities; Cassidian, Astrium, and Airbus Military will join together to become Airbus Defence and Space, and Airbus Helicopters will take over Eurocopter’s activities in both commercial and military sectors. “We are a pioneer for European industrial integration.

It is a logical step and high time that our multinational culture is also mirrored in our legal structure,” said Tom Enders, Airbus Group CEO.
