complied with ICAO standards and was
reportedly regarded as a success. Later
this year, Entry Point North will also be
delivering ATSEP Training consultancy
services to PCCW-HKT. “We are very

P&w breaks ground on first Singapore
manufacturing facility
Pratt & Whitney Singapore Manufacturing has broken ground on a new facility at
Singapore’s Seletar Aerospace Park that will produce fan blades and high-pressure
turbine disks for Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower Geared Turbofan engines. The new
16,000-square-metre facility, which is expected to be ready by 2014 and begin work
in 2015, will border the firm’s existing facility at Seletar: Pratt & Whitney Singapore
Component Repair. “Pratt & Whitney is pleased to break ground on this new facility
and further expand our already large presence in Singapore, which is well-known
throughout the aerospace industry for its highly trained and technically skilled

Dean Athans takes the lead at the Engine Alliance
The new President of the Engine Alliance, Dean Athans, has come to his new role from the GE Power
& Aero Derivatives business, where since 2010 he has been head of the LSM100 power turbine product
line. Before that, he spent 25 years at GE Aviation in a variety of leadership roles. He said, “I welcome this
opportunity to assume leadership of the Engine Alliance. The GP7200 engine is a great product with a
strong customer base and wonderful team behind it.” In addition, Athans’ predecessor, Mary Ellen Jones,
said, “I leave the Engine Alliance with great pride in the GP7200’s performance… I look forward to [the
engine’s] continued success on the A380 with Dean at the helm.”
