DSEI is expected to showcase the best of British defence technology and innovation.
Integration across land, sea, air, cyber and space domains, which is what the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and UK Strategic Command are striving for, will be the theme of DSEI 2021, which will take place from Sept. 14-17 in London. The event will highlight the steps that the UK Ministry of Defence and the services are adopting to develop and maintain organic integration at all levels and across all domains. It will offer a forum for Defence UK to meet with industry partners to strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and discuss the technological innovations that will support the British forces in their integration efforts. "Once again, DSEI is showcasing the best of British defence technology and innovation on a world stage," said Jeremy Quin MP, Minister for Defence Procurement. "Bringing together strategic partners, international governments and pioneering defence companies, this show offers a unique opportunity to collaborate, partner and cooperate to further our collective global defence and security agenda." The newly formed Strategic Command is at the forefront of an ambitious attempt to change the ways British commands interoperate. UK Defence is driving integration efforts to mesh the way individual armed services operate in the battlespace. The focus is on using defence resources efficiently across multiple domains at an optimum pace to stay ahead of threats and adversaries, has been highlighted by the global impact of COVID-19 , and the understanding that robust national resilience relies on more than fire power. . The event, which has 'Integrated Response to Future Threats' as its theme, will discuss the ways in which the industry can support the integration efforts. I ntegration at all levels and across all domains will see increased demand for disruptive application of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data in the cyber domain, increased focus on defeating adversaries in the 'grey zone' through special operations, and support for improved decision making aided by data analytics and information technologies.
