Apache Fire Control – Continuing the Legacy of Excellence Abroad

Our Bureau - : Feb 22, 2024 - : 12:19 am

The Target Acquisition Designation Sensor/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (TADS/PNVS) is the combat-proven, advanced electro-optical fire control system used by AH-64D/E Apache helicopter pilots across the globe for long-range precision engagement and pilotage capabilities in day, night and adverse-weather missions.

With 19 international customers to-date, the Apache Fire Control team continues to look for opportunities to support customers and partnerships. Recently, the Republic of Singapore awarded Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control a $83.2 million contract to deliver 18 new modernized laser upgrade kits for their current Apache Attack Helicopter fleet. This upgrade to their existing TADS/PNVS systems will include sustainment spares and comprehensive training on the operation of the upgraded configuration.

Building on over 35 years of sensor lineage and upgrades, the Laser/Tech Refresh Upgrade Kits for the Republic of Singapore AH-64D Apache Attack Helicopters will provide significant performance improvements and obsolescence mitigation resulting in reduced operating and support cost.

“Lockheed Martin is proud to partner with Singapore to modernize their TADS/PNVS systems,” said Tom Eldredge, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Director of Rotary Wing Sensors. “This modernization effort will mitigate obsolescence, provide significant performance improvements, reduce operating and support costs and will help them keep their fleet relevant.”
