Hong Kong Airlines (HKA) and Thai Airways were both hit this week by severe turbulence which resulted in injury to passengers and crew. HKA said three passengers and three flight attendants were hurt when an A320 flight hit “sudden turbulence” as it descended to land at Phuket, although it landed safely. And an estimated 20 people suffered minor injuries when a Thai A380 was on landing approach to Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong.

Thai blamed “unforeseen turbulence” for the injuries which required a number of passengers and cabin staff to be treated in hospital.
