Turkey’s leading defence company Aselsan has made a significant leap in Defense News’ annual “Top 100 Defence Companies List,” climbing to 42nd position this year, up from 47th on the list last year.

Aselsan eye-catching climb up the rankings is due to its defence revenue of nearly US$3 billion USD; the company registered a growth of about 30% in 2023. The company’s total turnover reached US$3.2 billion, with defence accounting for 94% of the total.

The achievement underscores Aselsan’s strong commitment to export-driven growth strategy and innovation in the defence sector. The company’s remarkable progress is attributed to its development of cutting-edge solutions and export performance. In 2023, Aselsan secured new export contracts worth US$601 million and expanded its global footprint to 88 countries. The total backlog of the company is now at US$11.1 billion.

“Our rise in the Top 100 list is a clear demonstration of the hard work and dedication of our dynamic team,” said Aselsan CEO & President Ahmet Akyol. “With nearly 11,000 employees, 16 local subsidiaries and 18 international offices, we are well-positioned to achieve even greater rankings. Our goal is to secure a spot among the top 30 defence companies by 2030. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our team for their exceptional efforts, and look forward to witnessing further achievements.”

With a strategic focus on export-oriented growth, Aselsan aims to be among the Top 30 in the Defense News Top 100 by 2030. Towards this goal, the company is focusing on producing the world’s best products in their fields, developing game-changing technologies, and growing with an export-oriented focus.
