BHIC Submarine Engineering BHIC Submarine Engineering Services
(BSES), a subsidiary of Malaysia’s Boustead
Services Granted Heavy Industries Corporation (BHIC), has
been authorised to expand its Scope of
Contract Extension for Work and raise the Contract Ceiling Price
for In-Service Support Interim on two
Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Scorpene
Malaysian Navy Submarines submarines.
The Letter of Acceptance (LOA), valued at
MYR 43,600,000 (approximately USD 9.17
million), signifies a significant boost in the
responsibilities and financial investment of
BSES in supporting RMN’s naval fleet. This
move reiterates Malaysia’s commitment
to enhancing its maritime capabilities and
underscores BSES’s pivotal role in fulfilling
these objectives.
A formal contract between the Government
of Malaysia and BSES is expected to be
formalised and executed in the near future,
solidifying the terms of this extension. The
extension is anticipated to have a positive
impact on the BHIC Group’s financial per-
formance for the fiscal year ending on 31
December 2024.

LPM12Y, a vital Depot Level Maintenance
(DLM) procedure for F/A-18D aircraft, has
been undertaken domestically since 2021.
The recently delivered F/A-18D is the sec-
ond aircraft to undergo this maintenance,
spanning from 5 January 2023 to 15 April
2024. This maintenance regimen includes a
thorough inspection of the aircraft structure
and repair of structural damage.
In the past, maintenance for RMAF’s F/A-
18D aircraft had to be outsourced overseas.
However, collaborative efforts between
RMAF and both local and international
