Aero Vodochody (Aero), the Czech manufacturer of military training aircraft is all set to unveil an L-39NG training solution for the Philippine Air Force at ADAS. The airframer is confident that an L-39NG training solution will be well suited to the needs of the Philippine Air Force. Additional information on this new offering will be provided at ADAS.
Aero is currently manufacturing the L-39NG for its first customer and is also engaged in ongoing discussions with other potential customers.
Aero is also supporting the huge existing fleet of L-39 Albatrosses and held the sixth L-39 Users Group Conference in September, last year. The event featured representatives from the air forces of Slovakia, Hungary, Germany and Estonia with delegations from Ghana and Nigeria present from the African continent. Participants included countries from South America and some private users of the L-39.
Aero has based its business on three important pillars – MRO, Proprietary products and Aerostructures. The airframer’s proprietary training aircraft (L-39, L-39NG) continue to receive interest and Aero is presently undertaking many general overhauls for foreign customers and the Czech Air Force.
Aero’s aerostructures business is also growing and the company is an important supplier to Embraer for the C-390 programme, providing the following parts – rear fuselage, cargo ramp, fixed leading edge, doors, etc. Aero also reported an increase of purchase orders for the fixed leading edge for Airbus A220 aircraft and also continued to produce the central wing box for C-27J Spartan.
