Korps Pasukan Khas (Paskhas), the special forces corps of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU), recently has received an undisclosed number of P6 ATAV V3 assault vehicles.

Designed and built by PT. Surya Sentra Ekajaya (SSE Defence), the P6 All-Terrain Assault Vehicle (ATAV) series is a domestically designed and manufactured light assault vehicle that has been in production since 2016.

The P6 ATAV V3 (Version 3), as delivered to Paskhas, differs from the previous versions by incorporating a four-doors closed-cabin design with a STANAG 1 protection level. The V3 is also equipped with a Routech Rogue 12.7 mm Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) and a Metravib PILAR V acoustic gunshot detection system as standard.

SSE Defence’s P6 ATAV V3 has a dimension of 4.6 meter length, 2.3 meter width and a height of 1.5 meter. Powered with a 2,400 cc diesel engine, the 2.6 tons vehicle is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 120 km/h on paved road as well as a maximum range of about 500 km. The added weight and additional equipment have reduced its crew capacity from five in the previous versions to four.

Up to 30 units of P6 ATAV all versions have been delivered to the Indonesian Army Special Forces Command (Kopassus), Indonesian Navy Marine Corps (Kormar) and Paskhas.

SSE Defence is an Indonesian private company located in Tangerang, Banten Province. The company has designed and built several types of light and medium weight Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and armored reconnaissance vehicle for the Indonesian Armed Forces. The company is also looking for international customers.
