على هامش معرض آيدكس 2021 وقعت شركة “نمر” الإماراتية التابعة لمجموعة “إيدج” والرائدة في صناعة العربات العسكرية المُدولبة خفيفة ومتوسطة الوزن والتي أثبتت كفاءتها في المهام القتالية، اتفاقية تعاون مع الشركة السعودية للصناعات العسكرية (SAMI) لإنشاء إطار عمل للتعاون المستقبلي لتزويد المملكة العربية السعودية بحاجتها من العربات المدرعة.
تنافست “جيس” مع مجموعة من المركبات في المطالبة في تجارب أجرتها الشركة السعودية للصناعات العسكرية بإشراف خبراء عسكريين في المملكة العربية السعودية. مهد الأداء الاستثنائي للمنصة في الميدان الطريق لفرص جديدة للمركبة في المملكة العربية السعودية.
بدوره، قال سعادة الأستاذ فيصل البناي الرئيس التنفيذي والعضو المنتدب لمجموعة “إيدج”: “تعزيز العلاقات الاستراتيجية ركيزة مهمة في استراتيجية ايدج، ونحن نطمح إلى التوسع في هذا الالتزام مع زملائنا في الشركة السعودية للصناعات العسكرية. تمثل هذه الاتفاقية التعاون العسكري الأول بين السعودية والإمارات وخطوة كبرى في تدعيم العلاقات المتينة بالفعل بين البلدين”.
علَّق سعادة المهندس وليد بن عبد المجيد أبوخالد الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة السعودية للصناعات العسكرية، قائلاً: “مع التركيز العالي على نقل التقنية وخلق فرص عمل جديدة للمواهب السعودية بفضل هذه الشراكات، فإننا نعمل في سبيل تحقيق أحد أهداف رؤية المملكة 2030 المتمثل في توطين أكثر من 50 بالمئة من الإنفاق على المعدات العسكرية بحلول العام 2030م. وتمثل الاتفاقية الجديدة مع شركة “نمر” نقلة نوعية في جهودنا الرامية إلى بناء قطاع صناعات عسكرية مزدهر في المملكة العربية السعودية. ويسرنا أن هذه الشراكة الأولى من نوعها بين الشركتين تمثل بداية حقبة جديدة من التعاون المشترك في المجال العسكري بين الدولتين الشقيقتين المملكة العربية السعودية والإمارات العربية المتحدة”.
وقال اللواء ركن طيار فارس خلف المزروعي رئيس مجلس إدارة نمر: “بعد عام من المفاوضات والتجارب والاختبارات، يعترينا شعور عظيم بالإنجاز فيما يخص توقيع هذه الصفقة الاستراتيجية مع الشركة السعودية للصناعات العسكرية. ونتشرف بأن هذه الشراكة الأولى من نوعها بين الشركتين تمثل بداية عصر جديد من التعاون في القطاع العسكري بين الإمارات والسعودية”.
تُعدّ آلية جيس رباعية الدفع من الجيل القادم من آليات “MRAP” المضادة للكمائن والألغام، حيث توفر الآلية التوازن الأساسي بين القوة النارية والقدرة على البقاء وسهولة الحركة عند تنفيذ العمليات الحديثة والتقليدية وغير التقليدية. وتمتاز هذه الآلية بهيكل يوفر الحماية اللازمة للطاقم ضد الألغام والعبوات الناسفة والقذائف البالستية.
