In an effort to gradually resume domestic passenger service, VietJet Air has begun flying passenger freighter flights.
The low-cost carrier issued a statement saying that it will operate regular daily passenger and cargo flights to support essential supply chains.
Following the decision of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), from 16 April 2020 onwards Vietjet will operate one daily return flight between Hanoi and Da Nang and one daily return flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang as well as increasing the frequency of the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City route to two return flights per day.
Also, Vietjet will operate around ten cargo flights per day to transport medical supplies and essential equipment for free to support Vietnam’s pandemic prevention and control. The airline is also offering free transportation for doctors and medical staff during this time.
