The LangkaWi inTernaTionaL MariTiMe and aerospace exhibiTion (LiMa)
is gearing up to produce an outstanding show with more lucrative opportunities for its
partners, exhibitors and visitors than ever before at LIMA’13, held from March 26 to 30.
Since its inception almost 25 years ago, LIMA has firmly established itself as the
premier destination for aerospace and maritime manufacturers targeting the Asia
Pacific growth markets from the defence, enforcement, civil and commercial sectors.
That’s a quarter of a century!
Every two years, LIMA has been assembling key decision-makers and specifiers from
across the region for the five-day event. Held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition
Centre, the exhibition combines the adjacent Langkawi International Airport and the
purpose-built cruise jetty as part of the overall facilities, affording exceptional options
to promote products and capabilities.
According to researchers at Frost & Sullivan, the growth of commercial aviation in
ASEAN is set to be driven by rising demand for air travel, and increasing economic
development and trade in the region. With more routes being opened up, accelerated
airport development will be essential in the region as some countries such as Indonesia,
Thailand and the Philippines work to grow capacities in their airports and undertake
expansion plans to keep up with traffic growth.
