Israeli company SkySapience is now offering its HoverMast 100 tethered UAV to the US Army and US border patrol. The company has developed a tethered aerial platform that can be used for long endurance operation of different sensors.
According to the company the HoverMast is being offered for the US army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) programme and the US border patrol units along the US – Mexico border.
The Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) programme will be based on a ground vehicle that will be equipped with robotic controls, target acquisition, and remote weapon system.
One platform considered for the program is the old M-113 tracked armored personnel carrier that can become a modular base with the ability to integrate multiple mission payloads.
Brig. General (Res.) Gabriel Shachor CEO of SkySapiense the Israeli Company that has developed the HoverMast 100 said that the RCV program has a mandatory requirement for a tethered unmanned system that will be operated by the RCV for intelligence and jamming.
“We talk with different American companies that show great interest in our systems that is operational in Israel and in countries all over the world”.
The HoverMast-100 is an all-around versatile, unmanned hovering systems for defense-related intelligence and communication.
Rising to heights of up to 330 feet within seconds, the HoverMast-100 is secured by a cable, serving as an unlimited power supply and wideband data link. Supporting COMINT and ELINT, the platform transfers critical data including visuals, wave relay signals, and target location to selected recipients in real time, even while in motion.
According SkySapiense CEO, the stabilized platform is capable of carrying any payload of up 18 pounds at 330 feet hovering, including CCD/IR cameras, radars, relays, cellular antennas, and hyperspectral sensors, offering the best size-to-payload ratio in the market today. With its passive operation, the platform emits a relatively low noise level and no electronic signals; it is perfect for missions where low signature is required.
The HoverMast-100 is suitable for a wide range of small platforms: UGVs/USVs (unmanned ground /surface vehicles), pick-up trucks, boats, ATVs, communication vehicles and other platforms.
