ATRs for Thailand and UAE (SINGAPORE AIRSHOW 2014 – DAY 2)

Bangkok Airways, a 20-year veteran of operating ATR aircraft, has ordered six ATR 72-600 aircraft, according to a 12 February announcement. This deal is worth USD200 million, and the first aircraft will be delivered later this year. Their arrival will allow Bangkok Airways to start renewing is fleet. Bangkok Airways also holds an option for two further aircraft.

In other good news for ATR, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), a United Arab Emirates-based leasing firm, announced that it was purchasing 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft (20 firm orders plus an option for 20). This is DAE’s first order for regional aircraft, and deliveries are scheduled for 2015-18.
