Rohde & Schwarz has been awarded a contract to modernize Evenes Airport for the Royal Norwegian Air Force with highly secure radio communications solutions by the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (FMA).
Evenes Airport is being upgraded to become one of two Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) bases.

Evenes Airport will also be an advanced operational base for RNAF F-35 fighters and P-8 maritime surveillance aircraft, with permanent NATO quick response alert contingency and periodic training activities.
Rohde & Schwarz will install new HF and V-/UHF radio systems for military air traffic control (ATC) and first deliveries are expected in 2021.
