AirAsia, the Malaysia-based multinational low-cost airline, is offering limited-time fixed low fares for late-night flights to seven destinations in the country. The program is launched to anticipate the Chinese New Year holiday season this year.
“As we usher in the Lunar New Year, we are committed to strengthening our support in flying our guests back home to reunite with their families affordably.” said the Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, Bo Lingam in the company’s press release on Friday (Jan. 5). “Today, we are pleased to reintroduce the fixed low fares for late-night flights between Peninsular and East Malaysia with around 25,000 seats for the upcoming festive period,” he added.
Starting from 5 to 15 February 2024, the fares between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, or Miri, as well as between Johor Bahru and Kuching, Sibu, or Miri will be offered at MYR298 (approx. USD64), or MYR348 (approx. USD75) between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan or Tawau, as well as between Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu.
In addition to 134 late-night flights at fixed low fares to seven popular destinations in East Malaysia, AirAsia is also operating 408 flights weekly with regular fares to Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan in support of the government’s festive season initiative.
All fares are for one-way travel inclusive of airport taxes, MAVCOM fees, fuel surcharges, and other applicable fees. Other terms and conditions apply.
Meanwhile, the airline’s branch in Indonesia, Indonesia AirAsia, has announced that the company will start flying a new direct route connecting Denpasar, Bali to Bandar Lampung. This new route will be operational starting on 17 January 2024.
“Indonesia AirAsia hopes that the opening of this route can help the regional government increase the number of domestic and foreign tourists who want to visit Lampung by taking connecting flights from Denpasar or Jakarta to Bandar Lampung, such as tourists from Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, and vice versa,” said the President Director of Indonesia AirAsia, Veranita Yosephine on Saturday (Jan. 6).
She further added that this step will not only open the door to various destinations but also provide alternative flights at affordable rates.
The airline has given the designation of QZ182 for the flight from Denpasar to Bandar Lampung, and QZ183 for the return flight. The route will be served four times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
