Vietnam Airlines has integrated the Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS) from Amadeus, marking a significant step in its ongoing digital transformation. The system provides a range of solutions, including inventory, reservation, ticketing, departure control, and digital services, aimed at improving operational efficiency.
The Altéa PSS enables Vietnam Airlines to offer efficient reservation services, assisting passengers in purchasing, modifying, and utilising the airline’s services. The airline is also transitioning to the Xchange Payment Platform (XPP) from Outpayce, a business under Amadeus. This platform facilitates the acceptance of a variety of card and alternative payment methods from travellers worldwide.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Amadeus, a recognised global travel technology leader. The partnership will enable us to use innovative solutions to improve our operations, customer service and competitiveness. With Amadeus’ technologies, we are now able to offer more tailored and smooth experiences to our passengers, across all channels and touchpoints.” said Dang Anh Tuan, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines.
“The successful implementation of the new Passenger Service System is an important milestone for Vietnam Airlines in its journey to becoming a digital airline, improving customer experience as well as our operational efficiency.”
Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Travel Unit & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Amadeus, commented: “We achieved a very exciting technology upgrade with Vietnam Airlines and are proud to work hand-in-hand with the carrier on its transformation journey. Travel continues to be a catalyst of growth in Asia Pacific and we are confident that Amadeus technology offers the best way for airlines and travel players to grow their businesses.”
“Vietnam Airlines has a steadfast partner in Amadeus and we believe that this successful implementation of the Altéa PSS and components is just the beginning of a great partnership,” he added.
Vietnam Airlines is continually integrating the latest advances across its business, with the deployment of the Amadeus Altéa passenger service system being a clear indication of its ambition to become a fully digital airline by 2025.
