Bayanat Showcasing New Cutting-Edge Video Analytics Platform

Our Bureau - : Nov 15, 2023 - : 8:40 am

UAE-based technology firm Bayanat is showcasing a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered video analytics platform at the ongoing airshow. The brand-new technology is being showcased for the first time at the ongoing Show.

The new AI powered video analytics platform is being developed with Bayanat as the prime contractor as part of a Proof-of-Concept contract inked with a leading airport in SE Asia. The Proof of Concept is slated for completion by March 2024.

The AI powered system is able to perform airside wildlife detection, safety management and offers far improved drone detection and classification capability as compared to conventional video analytics platforms.

Speaking to Daily News, a company official said that the new system also offered “Zero-shot” video analytics for quick search. This means that the AI model doesn’t need to be trained to improve its performance in a time-consuming manner and is available for operational use in a speedier manner.

The official said the new AI powered video analytics platform is proving especially useful in the detection of unwanted objects during airside operations especially related to unauthorised drones. “We are working to ensure that the Proof-of-Concept is completed and will then explore further market opportunities.”

The use of AI reduces the number of staff needed to undertake video analytics and a offers a dramatic reduction in false alarms. It also identifies bird threats for airside operations. The system makes use of existing CCTV feeds at the airport and the company official stated that the system was “sensor agnostic.”

The AI powered video analytics platform is able to trawl through vast amounts of digital footage to detect and classify items of interest. The operator simply has to mention the item of interest that needs to looked at, and the AI system is available to provide the required screenshots and time snaps of the objects of interest in seconds. 100 hours of footage can be scanned and objects of interest can be identified within seconds.
