The Czech Republic’s Excalibur Army has its debuts in the ongoing show. The company is bringing a few small scale models of its products on its booth to introduce itself to the Malaysian audiences.
“This is our first time here at the exhibition, our first step (in Malaysia), because we already have strong partners in many other countries,” said Tomas Klose, Excalibur Army’s representative and sales executive that GBP met at the show.
“While we’re currently just starting making contacts with (Malaysian) authorities and companies, we believe in the future there will be success for us here,” he added.
While its booth may looks unassuming, the producer and system integrator of armoured and utility vehicles such as Pandur II Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), Dana Self Propelled Howitzer (SPH), Patriot 4x4 Armored Combat Vehicle (ACV), and more is actually one of major players in Malaysia’s neighbouring country, Indonesia.
Indonesia’s PT PINDAD recently delivered a first batch of 10 Pandur II APCs assembled in the state-owned company’s facility. Furthermore, 14 of Excalibur Army’s RM-70 Vampire 8×8 Multiple Launch Rocket Launchers (MLRSs) have also been built under licence in Indonesia to equip the country’s Marine Corps.
“We, of course, are open for technology transfer. Just like we did in Indonesia, we will also offer Malaysia similar benefits including licence production of our products,” Tomas concluded.
