The Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), a member of the SK Group, recently introduced its new Micro Folding Battle Sight (MFBS) on Thursday (Feb. 28). The new sight was developed to conserve the valuable space on the rail without compromising the availability of backup sights.
“IWI developed the MFBS after identifying the need for detachable, durable sights, that arose from the field,” said Ronen Hamudot, Executive VP of Marketing and Sales of the SK Group. “Introducing the MFBS to the market represents our commitment to clients to provide comprehensive solutions, and to expanding our offering,” he added.
Designed to complement the most well-known sights on the market, the MFBS folds backward to give maximum rail space without hindering the operation of the AR-style rifle’s charging handle.
According to the company’s press release, the MFBS are designed for the field and meet both NATO and MIL-STD drop tests. The sight can be lifted and folded when needed, in line with operational needs, and have a narrow profile to the width of the Picatinny rail. Adaptable to a range of high-reflex sights and accompanying tall means, it has a low cross-section in the folded position.
Furthermore, the MFBS can be adjusted with a simple tool, which makes field modifications easy. The front sight is offered in a narrow profile for sights without tritium inserts., while the rear sight is designed with a quick modification between small and large apertures.
