Russian Helicopters is bullish on market prospects for its products in Egypt, where operators have experienced the ruggedness and reliability of Russian produced helicopters.
“WE HAVE A LONG AND FRUITFUL HISTORY OF MILITARY-TECHNICAL
COOPERATION WITH THE REPUBLIC OF EGYPT, DATING BACK TO THE SOVIET
UNION. I CANNOT SPEAK FOR THE WHOLE DEFENSEINDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, BUT
WE HIGHLY APPRECIATE OUR EGYPTIAN PARTNERS’ TRUST AND INTEREST. “RUSSIAN HELICOPTERS” HOLDING IS ALWAYS READY FOR DIALOGUE AND WILLING TO OFFER ANY HELICOPTERS, NOT ONLY MILITARY ROTORCRAFT BUT ALSO CIVIL, INCLUDING OUR NEWEST MODELS, SUCH AS MI-38, KA-226T, ANSAT AURUS AND SO ON,” a company official tells GBP Show News.
The airframer’s Mi-28, Ka-52, and Mi-35 attack helicopters are asp equipped with advanced avionics and weapons systems.
The Mi-8/17 family of helicopters can be equipped with the most advanced electronics, optoelectronic stations, including pilot’s cockpit and cargo cabin armor protection. Mi-8/17 can also carry the most diverse set of weapons - guided anti-tank and air-to-air missiles, unguided rockets, cannon containers, bombs and so on. “Mi-8 and its latest modifications have no equal in terms of “reliability-load-carrying-capacity-capabilities performance combination and its ability to work in hot climates and highlands” criteria,” the official said, adding, “assembly of Mi-8AMT helicopters from assembly kits manufactured
at Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant is coming to the mass production level.”
Four helicopters have already been handed over by Russian Helicopter’s to customer. Two more Mi-8AMT are expected to be delivered by the end of the year and the company is planning to increase production volumes in Kazakhstan next year. Russian Helicopters is also focusing on maintenance aspects of its helicopters with approximately 10 service centers for helicopter maintenance that are being established and upgraded abroad.
