FIDAE, which turns 20 this year, begins today at Santiago, Chile, with more than 650 companies from over 60 countries taking part in what is considered the leading aerospace and defense trade show in Latin America. The event will conclude on April 8.
The number of exhibitors is an increase from the last edition in 2016, which hosted about 580 exhibitors from 46 nations. While the last edition attracted more than 120,000 professional visitors, including 600 delegations from 31 countries, the organizers anticipate a bigger turnout this year.
Among the major companies attending the event are Lockheed Martin, Harris Corporation, Leonardo, Embraer, Rockwell Collins, Bombardier, Bell Helicopter, Brahmos Aerospace, and Dassault Aviation. With more than 100 exhibitors, North America has the biggest presence at the show. There is a large number of Chilean companies at the event as well.
FIDAE 2018 will showcase state-of-the-art technologies regarding land, air and naval defence and is being attended by military leaders from all over the world. One of the highlights of this year’s event is the Aviation Leaders Forum, which takes place April 4-5. Participants will discuss the future of the Latin American aviation industry at the forum. Another feature of the event is the opportunity for companies attending the fair to schedule One-To-One Meetings.
