Learning the Ropes
At present rates, air traffic doubles every 15 years. Over the next 20 years, Boeing
estimates the industry will need 185,000 new pilots in the Asia-Pacific region alone;
China will make up 71,300 of those. The US trails with a mere 69,000 pilots needed –
but no matter where, the message is clear. The rate of training will have to increase.
