In December 2024, Integrated Surveillance and Defense (ISD), in partnership with the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Indonesian agencies, successfully completed the Critical Design Review (CDR) for the Indonesian Navy’s CN-235 MPA (Maritime Patrol Aircraft) program. The review involved the Indonesian National Military-Naval Force (TNI-AL) and Indonesian Aerospace (PTDI), marking a key step in enhancing Indonesia’s maritime surveillance capabilities.
The review process confirmed the design’s maturity, with all technical aspects, including documentation, safety measures, and manufacturing feasibility, being validated by subject matter experts. This assessment cleared the project for the next phase, moving it into production.
"This successful review demonstrates the strong partnership between the U.S. and Indonesian," said Blaise Dagilaitis, President of ISD. "The program will significantly enhance Indonesia's maritime patrol capabilities."
Awarded to ISD in March 2024, the program is part of a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) initiative. It includes the upgrade of CN-235 MPA, which will be equipped with advanced sensors, communication systems, and mission management technologies. Additionally, ISD will provide a Mission System Simulator, as well as training and field support services for the Indonesian Navy.
Earlier in 2024, ISD also achieved a significant quality milestone by passing the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division's (NAWCAD) AIRWorks' Quality Management System Risk Assessment, adhering to the AS9100D standards.
