Aitech Systems has broadened its offerings in space-rated unified system architectures to address the need for reduced development times and costs in satellite buses, subsystems, and payloads. The company’s Space Digital Backbone (DBB) provides a communication pathway designed to support the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in space missions.
Aitech supplies integrated hardware and software, along with engineering analysis of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems. This approach aims to improve reliability, real-time data processing, high-resolution imagery, and situational awareness for space operations. The space DBB also facilitates integration and high-speed connectivity between communication systems, cameras, local edge computing, and storage elements across all orbital levels.
In addition, Aitech’s I/O boards support payload sharing and interface with satellite buses, which aids in managing satellite swarms and constellations. This design helps reduce latency through dedicated high-speed data streams and high-capacity memory. Power control subsystems are incorporated into controllers to manage output power and switching times, aiming to prevent transients from affecting the system. The company also provides power and signals for motors or servos, which can enhance autonomy and decision-making in space environments.

Commercial space enterprises are seeking space-ready orbital systems that integrate computational, input/output, and communication functionalities. These systems are necessary for controlling satellite operations, including image data processing, communications, and navigation.

The company uses scalable, versatile interconnects and open standards-based computing with COTS to enhance reliability in areas such as Earth observation, computation and data handling, and communication.
