Batik Air Malaysia To Open Four New Indonesia-India Routes

Batik Air Malaysia will start flying four new daily round trip routes between Indonesia and India via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia starting on 1 August 2022.

“Along with the recovery of air travel followed by an increase in demand for the aviation market, Jakarta-Mumbai, Jakarta-Kochi, Bali-Mumbai, and Bali-Kochi, will further enhance bilateral relations between countries, and facilitate the movement of international economic activity,” said Batik Air Malaysia CEO Capt. Mushafiz bin Mustafa Bakri last week (29 June).

The airline will operate the latest generation of Boeing 737 series aircraft to serve these four new routes, with flight details in local time, UTC difference in parenthesis, and in 24-hour format, as follows:

Jakarta-Mumbai:
OD315: Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, 11:40 (+7) – 14:25 (+8).
OD215: Kuala Lumpur-Mumbai, 19:15 (+8) – 22:25 (+5:30).
OD216: Mumbai-Kuala Lumpur, 23:15 (+5:30) – 07:15 (+8).
OD316: Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta, 10:00 (+8) – 11:00 (+7).

Jakarta-Kochi:
OD315: Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, 11:40 (+7) – 14:25 (+8).
OD231: Kuala Lumpur-Kochi, 21:35 (+8) – 23:10 (+5:30).
OD232: Kochi-Kuala Lumpur, 00:10 (+5:30) – 07:05 (+8).
OD316: Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta, 10:00 (+8) – 11:00 (+ 7).

Denpasar (Bali)-Mumbai:
OD305: Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur, 13:05 (+8) – 14:25 (+8).
OD215: Kuala Lumpur-Mumbai, 19:15 (+8) – 22:25 (+5:30).
OD216: Mumbai-Kuala Lumpur, 23:15 (+5:30) – 07:15 (+8).
OD306: Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar, 09:10 (+8) – 12:15 (+8).

Denpasar (Bali)-Kochi:
OD305: Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur, 13:05 (+8) – 14:25 (+8).
OD231: Kuala Lumpur-Kochi, 21:35 (+8) – 23:10 (+5:30).
OD232: Kochi-Kuala Lumpur, 00:10 (+5:30) – 07:05 (+8).
OD306: Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar, 09:10 (+8) – 12:15 (+8).

Batik Air Malaysia has stated that the ticket prices for these flights will range between IDR 3.1 million (about INR 16,888/USD 206.7) to IDR 4.3 million (about INR 22,734.25/USD 286.88).

Established in 2012, Batik Air Malaysia was formerly known as Malindo Air until 28 April this year. With a fleet of 12 ATR 72-600, 8 Boeing 737-800, 2 Boeing 737 MAX 8, and 16 more Boeing 737 series aircraft on order, the airline currently has over 69 routes across Asia and Australia.

The airline is a subsidiary of the Indonesian Lion Air Group which also oversees Lion Air, Wings Air, Batik Air (Indonesia), Super Air Jet, and Thai Lion Air.
