HAVELSAN Secures EASA Certification for Second Boeing 737-8 MAX Simulator

Our Bureau - : Sep 11, 2024 - : 12:11 am

Ankara-based simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN has announced that its Boeing B737-8 MAX Full Flight Simulator, operated by Turkish Airlines, has obtained European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Level D certification. This is the second B737-8 MAX simulator from HAVELSAN to achieve this certification, following the first simulator, which was certified in May 2023 at Turkish Airlines’ Flight Training Center.

The certification of the second simulator marks another significant achievement in the company’s partnership with Turkish Airlines, which involves the delivery of 11 A320 CEO NEO and Boeing 737 MAX full flight simulators and flight training devices (FTDs). EASA Level D certification is the highest standard for flight simulators, indicating that they provide the most realistic training experience.

“We are thrilled to announce the second EASA full flight simulator certification of a HAVELSAN-manufactured 737-8 MAX device. It symbolises our shared dedication with Turkish Airlines to ensuring that the simulator training infrastructure meets international standards,” said Mehmet Akif Nacar, CEO of HAVELSAN.

Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, added, “We are satisfied in achieving Level D certification for our second simulator. This achievement reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and proficiency for our flight crews.”

In addition to its Boeing simulators, HAVELSAN is working towards obtaining EASA certification for its Airbus A320 CEO/NEO full flight simulators. The company aims to demonstrate to the global aviation and pilot training sectors that it can produce world-class simulators for narrow-body aircraft.

With four decades of experience in the simulation industry, HAVELSAN continues to provide advanced flight simulation solutions both domestically and internationally. The company is actively seeking partnerships with airlines and training centres to expand its offerings and share information about its products.
