Leading rocket and missile manufacturer Roketsan has brought seven new products to the ongoing Show. The new products are among the 30 that the company is showcasing at the event.
Among the new products that the company is exhibiting at the event are an anti-tank missile system, mobile air defense system Burç, UAV-230 Air-to-Ground Ballistic Supersonic Missile, the KMC-U weapon system, MAM-L IIR and MAM-T IIR, long-range air defense system, and a tactical missile launching system.
At a pre-event press conference on Monday, Roketsan Board Chairperson Faruk Yiğit said the company's revenue in 2022 was US$863 million, an increase of more than 9 per cent in U.S. dollar terms compared to the previous year. “In 2022, we increased the share of foreign sales in revenue to 32%. We aim to increase this figure to 50% next year,” he added. "As we approach our goals step by step, our products continue to prove their success in all conditions from America to Asia, from Africa to Europe.”
Roketsan is increasing production capacity, the chairperson said. “We will continue to accomplish greater things in the future with the investments we have made that exceed our current capacity. Another way to ensure sustainable growth is through research and development (R&D) investments. In this context, as one of the largest R&D institutions in our country, we allocated 17.48% of our turnover to R&D in 2022 and spent TL 2.2 billion on R&D in total. In 2023, we foresee an R&D expenditure of TL 3.1 billion.”
The company added 1,536 new domestic suppliers to its ecosystem in 2022, bringing the total number of domestic suppliers to 1,823. The rate of national and domestic materials used by the company in its projects jumped to 87% last year. “Increasing its export volume simultaneously with its production capacity and evaluating 2023 as the year of export and investment, Roketsan will double its capacity in 2024,” Yiğit added.
According to company officials, Roketsan has signed an export contract for its Çakır cruise missile even before the product is ready for mass production. The missile recently underwent firing tests. The Çakır missile family includes eight different missiles in four main groups: Anti-Ship Missile (IIR, RF, Hybrid), Electronic Warfare Missile, Tracking Missile (IIR, RF, Hybrid) and Swarm Sensor Tracking Missile.
