SalamAir, Oman’s first low-cost carrier, inaugurated its latest office in Baghdad on March 9th, 2024, marking the airline’s expansion in Iraq.
The event, held at the Al Asal Building on 14th Ramadan St. in the Al Mansour district, was attended by Hamed Ahmed Eidroos, the Ambassador of Oman in Iraq, who underscored the historical importance of SalamAir’s presence in Baghdad. The ceremony also saw the participation of the Kuwaiti and Yemeni Ambassadors to Iraq, alongside distinguished guests representing various authorities, airports, and esteemed trade partners from Baghdad and throughout Iraq.
This new office is the first establishment of an Omani airline in Iraq, signifying a pivotal stride forward. Following a 20-year gap in direct flights between Oman and Iraq, SalamAir reinstated this vital connection on August 31st, 2023, fostering enhanced accessibility and collaboration between the two nations. The inauguration of the Baghdad office underscores the airline’s commitment to broadening its network and providing travellers with a wider array of affordable travel options.
SalamAir currently operates four weekly flights from Baghdad to Muscat, connecting passengers to an array of exciting destinations including Salalah, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Dhaka, Jaipur, Lucknow, Multan, and Dammam.
