Singapore Navy welcomes new chief

The Republic of Singapore Navy welcomed its new chief at a Change of Command Parade held at Changi Naval Base on Friday, August 1, 2014.

Rear-Admiral Lai Chung Han received the Navy’s symbol of command from outgoing Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Ng Chee Peng at the parade, witnessed by Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng, and attended by senior officers from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and servicemen from the Navy.

Rear-Admiral Lai, 41, is a former SAF and President’s Scholar. He joined the SAF in 1992, and was once commander of the RSS Valiant as well as Fleet Commander.
