On the opening day of the Singapore Airshow, ST Engineering announced that its aerospace arm had secured a five-year nacelle maintenance contract from Qantas Airways. Under the agreement, ST Engineering will provide nacelle maintenance services starting from 2020 to the airline’s Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330 fleet. “ST Engineering takes pride in being a provider of comprehensive MRO solutions that cover practically the entire aircraft, from airframe and engines to its various components,” said Lim Serh Ghee, President of ST Engineering’s Aerospace sector. “We also value the strong partnership we have forged with longstanding customers such as Qantas Airways, who have continuously entrusted their various maintenance needs with us. As we continue to build on our capabilities which now includes nacelle design and manufacturing, we hope to provide even greater support and value through integrated solutions for nacelles to our customers.” ST Engineering’s solutions for aircraft engine nacelles cover both aftermarket services and original equipment manufacturing, which are supported by a network of distribution centres, satellite stores and repair shops across the globe. In Stockholm, the Group has a Nacelle MRO facility that cover a wide range of engine nacelles including the latest Boeing 787 Trent 1000 and GenX engine nacelles. In Middle River, U.S., the Group has a facility specialising in the design and production of thrust reversers, engine nacelle components and other aerostructures. The Middle River facility will, starting in early 2020, have the MRO capabilities to provide nacelle component maintenance services. Through such new capability set-up, customers will get to enjoy integrated solutions in both manufacturing and aftermarket care across a range of nacelle systems under one roof.
