PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and the Directorate General of Defence Potential of the Indonesian Ministry of Defence are participating at the ongoing show with the former viewing the event as a strategic opportunity to expand its global market presence and eyeing potential sales and international partnerships in the aerospace defense sector. PTDI is highlighting its proven NC212i and CN235-220 aircraft, with scale models on display. Both aircraft designed to support both military and civilian operations.
Speaking to Daily News prior to the show, a company official said, “Vietnam represents a strategic focus for PTDI, as a key market in the Asia-Pacific region.” “PTDI now aims to strengthen its presence in Vietnam by exploring strategic collaborations with local partners,” the official added. This will allow PTDI to deliver integrated after-sales services, including maintenance, repair and spare parts provisioning, ensuring optimal performance and reliability that is backed by internationally certified facilities.
The Vietnam Air Force operates three NC212i aircraft, which were delivered from PTDI’s Bandung facility in 2018, where the engine maintenance for these aircraft has been carried out by PT Nusantara Turbine & Propulsion (PT NTP), a PTDI subsidiary specializing in aircraft engine services. In October this year, PTDI delivered the sixth NC212i to the Indonesian Air Force. The Indonesian Ministry of Defence has placed orders for a total of nine NC212i aircraft.
The NC212i is now also available with a new propeller made by MT Propeller, Germany, namely MTV-27 which is European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certified. The new propellor has resulted in lower noise levels and is compatible with the installed Honeywell TPE331 engine providing optimal performance with low noise and vibration levels during operation.
PTDI is the only aerospace manufacturer in Southeast Asia and boasts a strong export record with its flagship products, including the NC212 and CN235 series. PT Dirgantara Indonesia was established in August 1976 and has delivered over 470 units of aircraft to several customers all around the globe.
