Protective Posture

Vietnam is forging ahead with efforts to maintain a defensive posture in an increasingly uncertain and fraught
regional environment. The nation’s steadfast focus on territorial protection and maintaining regional stability
is driving the need for modernisation of its armed forces with support from partner nations. Nowhere is
Vietnam’s effort to broaden its defence supplier base more evident than at the ongoing Vietnam Defence
Expo, which has opened with the theme ‘Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Mutual Development.’

Asian Debut for Flying Legend TP-150

Flying Legend, in partnership with its
local partner Flying Legend Vietnam, is
showcasing the TP-150 military trainer
and patrol aircraft at the show. The ap-
pearance of the aircraft in Hanoi marks
its Asian debut. Flying Legend is head-
quartered in Italy with operational facil-
ities in the USA and a new production Vietnam Air
facility in Vietnam. In fact, Flying Legend
presents itself as the first aircraft com- Force to Induct
pany to build an aircraft in Vietnam. The
company announced earlier in December L-39NG into
that it had begun aircraft production in
Hanoi, just a year after entering into an Service Soon
agreement with its Vietnamese partners.
