Chemring Nobel, the Norwegian arm of Chemring, has entered into a 15-year partnership with Northrop Grumman. The agreement is centred around the supply of HMX energetic material, a crucial component in Northrop Grumman’s missile programmes.
The partnership is a testament to the growing trend among clients to establish long-term agreements. It not only strengthens the enduring relationship between the two companies but also bolsters Northrop Grumman’s endeavours to ramp up its munitions manufacturing in line with increasing customer demand.
Michael Ord, Chief Executive of Chemring, stated, “These awards, which illustrate the long-term and valued relationship that we enjoy with Northrop Grumman, support our decision to invest in increasing the capacity of our three energetics businesses over the medium-term, and reinforces Chemring’s position as a key supplier to NATO.”
As an integral part of this agreement, Northrop Grumman has placed an order with Chemring, worth USD83 million, for the supply of HMX. The order is set to be fulfilled over a span of three years, starting from FY26, with all operations being conducted at Chemring Nobel’s facility in SÓ•tre, Norway.
