Eurasia Airshow will now be held from December 2-6, 2020 at the Antalya International Airport, Turkey, after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the organisers to postpone the event which was scheduled to be held in April.
The organisers say they plan to put up a “very healthy show” in the literal sense and all arrangements are being made to ensure a successful event.
“Till now we don’t have any cancellations. As of March we have about 260 companies and 47 countries participating in the show, besides we have got confirmation of delegates from 72 countries,” informs Hakan Kurt, CEO of Capital, which is organising the event. “I expect the number of companies to go up to 400 in the next six months.”
Another novel feature of Eurasia Airshow 2020 is the hosting of the 5th Global Satellite and Space Show, also at Antalya International Airport. “Airbus and SpaceX have are among the top companies partaking in this,” he adds. For this purpose, one of the halls of the Eurasia Airshow 2020 facility has been reserved for the Global Satellite and Space Show. Approximately 90 percent of the hall has been reserved so far by the United States, France, Iran, Pakistan and Russia-based companies that have already confirmed their participation.
The Eurasia Airshow in Antalya, one of Turkey’s top tourist destinations, will showcase Turkey’s role in the global aviation industry. Eurasia Airshow has been targeted for the Eurasian market in terms of participants and has achieved success in this regard.
“We think that there will be over 130 official body meetings. Furthermore, we have specified a real order target of USD25 billion. We believe that there will be no deviation,” he says.
Referring to the vision of the show, Kurt says, “While Turkey’s airspace is passing though its most critical time in history, the Turkish aerospace sector has entered its strongest period. Consequently, our goal for Eurasia Airshow 2020 is to lock up the Eurasian market around Turkey in this period. This will be the main output of Eurasia Airshow 2020. Currently, Turkish airspace is in a highly critical situation, and the Turkish aerospace sector is experiencing its strongest period in terms of the range of products it produces. Having developed our industry and valuable airspace, this is the perfect time to lock up the market surrounding Turkey. We are continuing with all our domestic and international communication activities toward achieving this goal.”
The Eurasia Airshow will see participation form Russia to Qatar from Iran to United Kingdom, Ukraine to Poland. Worldwide leading companies of the industry such as Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Sukhoi, UAC, Antonov, BAE Systems, SAAB, Qatar Airways, Thales, Honeywell, GE Aviation, Pratt-Whitney, Goodrich and IRKUT have participated in the Eurasia Airshow. Our local companies has successfully represented Turkish Aviation Industry with leading companies such as Turkish Airlines, Havelsan, Aselsan, Alp Havacılık, Turkish Aerospace etc.
Russia’s Rosoboronexport will be the only national pavilion.
Many aircraft including F16-Fighting Falcon, F-18 Hornet, JF-17 Thunder and Su-35 will be exhibited in the Show. In addition to such large body aircraft as Airbus A350-1000, Boeing C-17 Globemaster III or Airbus A400M, the helicopters Eurocopter, Sikorsky S70, T129 ATAK and Ansat will also be seen.
