FLY91, India's youngest regional airline, announced a partnership with IBS Software on Wednesday (Apr. 3). Aiming to enhance its commercial operations and make air travel more accessible nationwide, the airline offers an air alternative to underserved routes in India.
IBS Software has developed a reservation platform aimed at delivering a seamless, efficient, and cost-effective experience to attract and retain customers. By adopting IBS Software's omnichannel iFly Res commerce platform, FLY91 will provide dynamic pricing, leveraging real-time capabilities to ensure competitive fares compared to other modes of transport.
Moreover, FLY91 will leverage an API-driven ecosystem to extend its services to tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India, enhancing last-mile connectivity to smaller destinations traditionally underserved by existing carriers.
"At FLY91 we are striving to deliver comfortable, reliable and affordable flights for everyone in India, opening up new travel opportunities to cities that have been underserved in the past,” said Prasanna Subramaniam, CTO at FLY91. “Delivering a simple and slick reservation experience will be a critical part of our success as we look to inspire a new demographic of air passengers. It is also vital that we deliver a peerless experience and can react to market dynamics in real-time to keep costs down.”
“Making all that happen requires brilliant and like-minded partners like IBS Software. We are excited they are on the journey with us as we enable the next 100 million Indians to take flight,” he added.
“FLY91 is an airline with a clear vision and a bright future. They also recognise that embracing cutting-edge technology is fundamental to realising their ambitions. We’re thrilled to have been trusted to power the commercial operations of such a visionary carrier. We look forward to supporting FLY91 by delivering differentiated customer experiences that help unlock a new wave of travel opportunities for millions of Indians," said Gautam Shekar, Senior Vice President at IBS Software.
FLY91, led by industry veterans including CEO Manoj Chacko, has already secured routes under the government's Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN. Commercial operations commenced on March 18, 2024, with FLY91 operating a fleet of turboprop ATR 72-600 aircraft from its base at Goa's Manohar International Airport.
