Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) seeks to find creative technological solutions for Korea’s defence and industrial needs – applying local collaborations, knowledge transfer, and creative technological solutions for the country’s defence needs. “We see a true partner in ROK’s local defence ecosystem and is proud of partnering with local companies to develop solutions for ROK’s security and defense needs,” Boaz Levy, IAI President and CEO, said.
IAI is looking towards furthering cooperation in the region and promoting local business collaborations and partnerships, he added. IAI has been engaging in various activities in the region to connect and work with local companies, especially in South Korea. “Although we are unable to discuss all the projects, amongst the key interests in the region are IAI’s advanced radars and Heron UAV, along with the long range EO/IR, have been sold to customers in the region, and many more systems that we cannot elaborate on,” Maxim Zemer, Corporate VP of Marketing for Southeast Asia at IAI told Daily News.
At ADEX, IAI is showcasing a variety of cutting-edge defence solutions, including IAI-ELTA’s Special-Mission Aircraft (CAEW and MARS2), the HAROP Loitering Missile, the Heron MK II UAS, the BARAK MX Air and Missile Defense System, helicopter avionics upgrades, and others. Installed on a best-in-class business jet, the Conformal Airborne Early Warning & Control (CAEW) is equipped with the latest generation of AESA Radar using GaN technology coupled with other advanced sensors and intelligence systems, and offers a NATO interoperability communication suite and IFF system. The company says CAEW, with its integrated AEW&C Sensor Suite, offers exceptional Air Defense and Air Battle Management, with accurate and reliable high-altitude long-range continuous 360o surveillance of all airborne and maritime threats. The system employs a powerful command, control & communication system to integrate the data of the onboard sensors: Radar, IFF, ESM/ELINT together with multiple broadband datalinks.
IAI-ELTAs MARS2 (Multi-Mission Airborne Reconnaissance & Surveillance System), based on the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) ‘Oron’, is the first wide area persistent surveillance, multi-sensor aircraft that provides unprecedented Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. MARS2’s groundbreaking sensors and pioneering data processing capabilities will enable multi-domain coverage of vast areas in real-time for ground and maritime surveillance, regardless of weather or visibility conditions. The state-of-the-art ISR systems developed and integrated in the MARS2 enable to generate comprehensive, real-time intelligence assessments, including detailed assessments of the deployment of enemy forces and terrorist organizations at short and long ranges, during routine and operational activity. The MARS2, installed on a best-in-class business jet, is equipped with advanced radar systems and cutting-edge sensors developed by IAI-ELTA.
