Major General Piek Budyakto, Director General of Defence Potential at the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, led a technical meeting on Wednesday, September 4, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. The meeting was attended by PT Napindo Media Ashatama Managing Director Ashatama and other senior officials, and was held in preparation for the Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum.

Scheduled for November 6-9, 2024, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, the event is part of a larger series that includes Indo Aerospace and Indo Marine 2024 Expo & Forum. It is anticipated to be a prominent international defence industry exhibition and forum.

The Director General of Defence Potential expressed gratitude to all involved in the preparation, highlighting their dedication to the event’s success. “This reflects our seriousness in organising this event,” he stated.

The Director General also encouraged both domestic and international exhibitors to present their products and innovations effectively, aiming to positively represent Indonesia.

Air Vice Marshal TNI Ir. Wajariman, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence’s Education and Training Agency, reiterated this sentiment. He emphasised that Indo Defence should facilitate effective communication between users and the industry. “That is the goal we want to achieve this year. It’s not just about the increasing numbers from 2022 to 2024, but we also hope that transactions will go smoothly, and we must ensure that this event runs successfully.”

The Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum, themed “Defence Partnerships For Global Peace And Stability,” aims to advance the national defence industry and strengthen both national and international defence cooperation. It will serve as a platform for showcasing products and accessing new business opportunities globally.

Napindo’s Managing Director highlighted the significance of this year’s event, noting its coinciding with a government transition. “I believe this is a great opportunity and moment for all exhibition participants to showcase their latest products and technologies,” he remarked, expressing hope that the new President and Minister of Defence will inaugurate the exhibition.

Marking its 10th edition, Indo Defence 2024 will feature over 1,000 local and international companies from 60 countries, including 35 national pavilions. The event is expected to attract around 40,000 visitors over its four-day duration, filling the 55,000 m² exhibition area.
