Lufthansa Group has placed an order for the installation of ZIM Aircraft Seating’s ZIMprivacy (PC-02) seat on 19 of its flagship Boeing B747-8 and a nine other SWISS Airbus A330 aircraft.
ZIM Aircraft Seating’s ZIMprivacy seats will be customised with specification and trim and finish variants for Lufthansa and SWISS to enable each airline to maintain their own cabin branding. The ZIM PC-02 Premium Economy seat will be installed in SWISS (A340 and B777) in Q1/2022 and will also be installed for Lufthansa in the new B777-9, A350 and B787 in the future. The Group had previously ordered the ZIMmagic (PC-01) Premium Economy seat.
The seats will come with a custom specification for trim and finish, so that Swiss and Lufthansa will be able to maintain their individual cabin brand. ZIMprivacy has set a new standard for comfort and privacy in the Premium Economy class. The seat has mechanical kinematics enclosed in a fixed backrest housing structure and includes enhanced privacy with an integrated privacy shield that creates enhanced personal space for all passengers. ZIMprivacy also includes a variety of other features such as individually adjustable armrests, cocktail table, one-piece dining table, personal reading light, ambient lighting and a very large IFE screen.
