Nexter displayed its range of armoured combat vehicles 8×8 artillery systems, ammunition and robotics at the just concluded DIMDEX show, held in Doha, Qatar.
Nexter is supplying 490 VBCI armoured vehicles for the Qatari forces under the Al Rayyan programme, in partnership with the Qatari Ministry of Defense (through Barzan Holdings, a company 100% owned by the Qatari Ministry of Defense).
Barzan displayed two models of VBCI at the show; one equipped with a 30mm canon and another one with a Nexter T40CT turret (an unmanned T40CT turret is proposed for the future).
Both variants recently completed a series of trials as part of the VBCI evaluation campaign conducted by the Qatari forces, which involved firing trials with different weapon system configurations of the VBCI’s 40mm turret equipped with the 40CTA telescopic gun.
A Joint Venture in Qatar is also proposed to be established by Nexter and Barzan for creation of a local local industrial base to deliver and maintain complete vehicles for the Al Rayyan programme.
