Singapore Inks Air Services Agreement with Ukraine

Singapore and Ukraine have entered into an Air Services Agreement (ASA) to support air connectivity between both countries. The agreement marks an important milestone in bilateral aviation relations, and replaces a previous agreement between the two countries from 2011.

The agreement was signed by Singapore Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Mr Chee Hong Tat, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Singapore Mrs Kateryna Zelenko, on the occasion of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Singapore.

“The signing of the Air Services Agreement with Ukraine demonstrates Singapore’s commitment to enhance aviation partnerships with like-minded countries globally,” said Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Mr Chee Hong Tat.

“The Singapore – Ukraine Air Services Agreement will support air connectivity between Singapore and Ukraine and create the conditions for stronger economic, cultural and people-to-people ties between our two countries.”

The ASA will allow airlines of both sides to operate unlimited frequencies of passenger and cargo services utilising third and fourth freedom traffic rights between Singapore and any point in Ukraine, with no restrictions on capacity, routing, and aircraft type.

The agreement also provides a more conducive regulatory and business framework for airlines to operate air services between the two countries.
