Viettel High Tech, Vietnam’s state-owned Military run manufacturer of telecommunications equipment announced at Vietnam International Defence Expo, that it had received certification for its Military Information products in Malaysia. Viettel High Tech has officially received a certificate from the Malaysian Army and Ministry of Defense, recognizing Viettel's military information products as meeting strict standards to supply to the Malaysian Army.
"Viettel's communication products can operate in harsh conditions according to military standards, using the latest standard architecture of Military Information product lines in the world. I believe our products will meet the requirements of the current Malaysian market,” said Nguyen Vu Ha, General Director of Viettel High Tech.
Viettel's military information products had previously, undergone a long period of testing of its products by the Malaysian Army in Malaysia, under harsh combat conditions. As per company officials, Viettel's products not only passed all quality and feature tests, but in some parameters were superior to similar products tested in Malaysia.
At the end of 2024, shortly after signing the cooperation agreement, we and Viettel conducted testing and evaluation of many communication devices. The evaluation results of the Malaysian Ministry of Defense showed that Viettel can fully meet the standards set by Malaysia. In the future, we will continue to work with Viettel to provide military equipment to the Malaysian market ,” said Badrul Hisham bin Ahmad Badarudin, Director of MIM Defence Company. Viettel has entered the Malaysian market through its strategic partner, MIM Defense - a leading company in providing high-tech military systems in Malaysia.
The grant of Malaysian military certification consolidates Viettel's position in the international market, especially Malaysia, where there was previously little information about Vietnam's research and production capacity of high-tech defense products. ‘At the same time, the event has promoted Vietnam - Malaysia defense cooperation, expanding business opportunities in Malaysia. Military information products are the first step, laying the foundation for other product lines such as radar, optoelectronics and electronic warfare of Viettel to penetrate deeper into this market,’ a Viettel High Tech release stated,
Previously, in May 2024, at the Defense and Security Exhibition Asia - DSA & NATSEC Malaysia, Viettel High Tech signed a strategic cooperation agreement with MIM Defense and the two sides announced to jointly develop international business. This strategic cooperation will help two companies from two countries to leverage their common strengths and explore business opportunities in local and global markets; exploit the strengths of both sides to develop business opportunities in the Southeast Asian region.
