BOC Aviation Orders Three Boeing 787-9 Aircraft

BOC Aviation Limited announced purchase of three new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners from Boeing, taking the total number of this aircraft model in the Company’s fleet or on order to 14. The order is valued at a total price of US$845 million and the list price comprises the price for airframe, optional features and engine.

“We are delighted to further our partnership with Air Europa, as it builds its longer haul capabilities,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation.

All three aircraft have been placed on long-term leases with Air Europa, and are scheduled to be delivered to the airline in 2020. The Spanish carrier currently has two 787-9s and eight 787-8s in its fleet of 41 aircraft. It also holds orders for 14 more 787-9s.

BOC Aviation had also placed an order for six Boeing 787-9s in March for $1.7 billion.
