Airbus is participating in the current International Defense Exhibition and Conference, IDEX 2021, by presenting a portfolio of solutions for the defense and security forces.
From its location within Atlas Group Pavilion No. CP-225 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, Airbus is showcasing several innovative solutions, including Tactilon Agnet 500 and 800, BorderCore and ManPack, as well as Tactilon Dabat and TB4.
Tactilon Agent 500 is a flexible and scalable solution in the form of a shared smart platform for multimedia communication and data sharing. Thanks to its design for emergency and crisis missions, this solution provides push-to-talk and messaging features to transfer data, video and voice between team members, using various devices including radio, smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
During the exhibition, Airbus is exclusively introducing its new BorderCore solution designed to support and reinforce security measures within land, sea, and air borders. The solution provides high-quality surveillance features, as well as several features that provide real-time visualization to support risk assessments and rapid, effective, and timely responses.
The Manpack LTE tactical bubble embedded with Tactilon Agnet is one of the solutions offered by Airbus during Idex. The ManPack was designed specifically for Special Forces operations on the front lines. The device is characterized by its lightweight, ease of use, and the ability to be fully operational within a few minutes, it provides voice and video communication services through direct contact with operations headquarters.
Airbus’ participation in IDEX 2021 is also the occasion to showcase its Tactilon Agnet 800 solution and the Tactilon Dabat that combines the features of smartphones and Tetra radio device. Thanks to the Hybrid Roaming feature, users can communicate efficiently, and seamlessly switch between TETRA or LTE services, depending on availability.
Airbus also offers the TB4 solution, which is a hybrid base station that supports TETRA, 4G, and 5G technologies. The solution provides security team members with advanced data sharing features and secure voice services to ensure coordination of operations.
“Amid the evolving defense market landscape, the development of new technological innovations and solutions is imperative and should be encouraged to strengthen further UAE government and law enforcement agencies. IDEX plays a vital role in ensuring that Airbus and other global organizations that are renowned in the field are given a platform to showcase their products and services vital to the area of security and defense. The fact that it is taking place in Abu Dhabi shows that the Emirate and the UAE as a whole are important players in the global defense industry. In addition, it reflects the country’s wish to establish its leadership status on all fronts” explains Selim Bouri, Head of Middle-East and & Asia-Pacific regions for Secure Land Communications at Airbus.
“During IDEX, Airbus will demonstrate how its myriad of solutions and devices can support our first responders and defense and security forces in the performance of their duties. Our specialists will establish how the technology-driven features of our solutions can enhance team collaboration and communication, as well as help to improve the process of making crucial and timely decisions” Bouri added.
Airbus is a leading provider of aviation and space solutions and related services. During the year 2019, the company achieved revenues of 70 billion euros, and its workforce reached about 135,000 employees.
