Airbus Helicopters concluded the VERTICON 2025 event in Dallas, United States, with 118 commitments, including 63 firm orders, for its multi-mission helicopters from global customers.
A notable aspect of the event was the reception of over 74 commitments for the H140, the company's newly unveiled light twin-engined helicopter. The H140 is set to debut in emergency medical services (EMS), with major operators such as Global Medical Response, ADAC Luftrettung, ÖAMTC Flugrettung, Air Methods, Stat MedEvac, Metro Aviation, and DRF Luftrettung in the U.S. and Europe signing orders and letters of intent.
“The H140 was designed by customers for customers. Signing with some of the world’s most prominent EMS operators shows that the H140 has hit the mark,” said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. “I would like to thank our customers for placing their trust in Airbus. The essential missions they perform with our helicopters is a tremendous source of pride for everyone in the company. VERTICON has proved to be a key moment in the year to connect with our customers and to celebrate what they do,” he added.
The H160 has commenced commercial offshore operations with PHI Aviation for Shell, following an innovative route-proving programme. Brazilian operator Omni secured a multi-services HCare contract in preparation for operations with Petrobras. Additionally, the New York State Police will be the first U.S. law enforcement agency to operate the H160, having ordered one H160 and three H145 helicopters.
In the support and services sector, Westair Helicopters signed an HCare contract to support the introduction of its H225 fleet for offshore energy missions in Namibia. Chinese operator GDAT agreed to an HCare In-Service contract covering ten H225 helicopters, which are deployed for emergency services and forest protection.
During VERTICON, Airbus Helicopters also conducted demonstration flights using 30% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in H175, H160, H145, and H125 IFR aircraft, reflecting the company’s commitment to increasing SAF usage.
