Akaer has been chosen by German aircraft manufacturer Deutsche Aircraft to produce the forward fuselage of the D328eco, a sustainable turboprop aircraft designed for the regional aviation market. Akaer’s responsibilities will include manufacturing the forward fuselage, as well as handling industrialisation, tooling, prototype development, and related studies.
This agreement marks a significant milestone for Akaer, bolstering its position in the global aerospace sector. Deutsche Aircraft has acknowledged Akaer’s expertise in design engineering and comprehensive assembly of the forward fuselage as key advantages. Akaer, a Brazilian aerospace engineering company, has demonstrated its capability to design and deliver large structural assemblies for the global aerospace industry, further solidifying Brazil’s position as the third-largest aircraft manufacturer worldwide.
“The D328eco signifies a major milestone in global aviation, heralding more sustainable and efficient flights,” said Cesar Silva, CEO of Akaer. “For Akaer, being a part of this significant project and playing a fundamental role in producing the forward fuselage is a source of great pride, further solidifying our position as a Tier 1 company.”
“The commitment and experience showcased by Akaer throughout this process was pivotal in our decision-making, Akaer is one of the key players in the Brazilian Aerospace industry which is why we are excited to collaborate on this project for the front fuselage which is a milestone in the D328eco programme,” emphasised Dave Jackson, CEO of Deutsche Aircraft.
“This collaboration underscores the acknowledgement of Akaer’s excellence and 32 years of experience in the aeronautical industry,” said Maximilan Fahr, Vice President Supply Chain of Deutsche Aircraft. “The selection process was meticulous. We considered Akaer’s commitment, customer focus and exemplary experience, which were instrumental in securing this significant project for the D328eco programme.”
The D328eco is designed with a multi-role configuration, enabling it to be adapted for various operations including passenger transport, rescue missions, military operations, forest firefighting, and aeromedical services. Its flight characteristics and adaptability allow it to access destinations with short, unpaved runways, even in challenging weather conditions.
Promising industry-leading fuel efficiency and low pollutant emissions, the D328eco will be fully compatible with 100% SAF-PtL and other fuel blends, providing customers with maximum flexibility in energy supply options.
The first delivery of the D328eco forward fuselage is scheduled for the end of 2025 and will initially be manufactured in Brazil at facilities in São José dos Campos.
