ANA to Introduce Pokémon-Themed Safety Videos

Our Bureau - : Aug 16, 2024 - : 4:58 pm

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will begin showing Pokémon-themed in-flight safety and disembarkation videos, created in collaboration with the Pokémon Company, from 15 August on its “Pikachu Jet NH” and “Eevee Jet NH” aircraft. The specific aircraft used may vary depending on operational requirements and will be confirmed on the day of the flight.

In March 2023, ANA joined the “Pokémon Air Adventures” initiative, operating two specially painted aircraft for international flights, named “Pikachu Jet NH” and “Eevee Jet NH.”

The in-flight safety video, developed by ANA and the Pokémon Company, aims to engage passengers of all ages by presenting essential safety information in an entertaining and accessible manner. The video features various Pokémon characters to help explain safety procedures and precautions in a clear and engaging way. Additionally, the disembarkation video shows Pikachu getting lost and being reunited with its trainer with the help of ANA airport staff, highlighting the airline’s team spirit.

“The partnership with The Pokémon Company brings together two iconic brands to create a unique in-flight safety experience that seamlessly bridges generations, offering both fun and educational information,” said Motoaki Ueno, Executive Vice President, Customer Experience Management and Planning of ANA. “At ANA, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our passengers, and this innovative approach allows us to elevate the flight experience by combining essential safety information with engaging entertainment. This unique collaboration ensures travellers of all ages enjoy a memorable and delightful journey with us.”

The ANA Group aims to create unforgettable travel experiences and, through the special livery of the “Pikachu Jet NH” and “Eevee Jet NH,” hopes to bring joy to its passengers.

The videos will be available with Japanese-English narration and multilingual subtitles in 18 languages. Sign language has also been included in cooperation with the Japanese Federation of the Deaf to ensure accessibility for a wider audience.
