Escribano, Indra, TRC Collaborate on Advanced C-UAS Solution

Our Bureau - : Jun 7, 2024 - : 10:19 pm

Indra, Escribano, and TRC have entered into a partnership to develop a solution for countering drones (C-UAS) to cater to the operational needs of the Spanish Armed Forces. The agreement entails the establishment of a joint venture between Escribano and Indra, with TRC as a partner.

The trio brings extensive experience in the relevant technologies, having developed operationally tested C-UAS solutions for both the Air and Space Force and the Army. They have also been involved in solutions for the Spanish Navy. Their combined expertise will enhance the protection and security of the Armed Forces against emerging threats on the battlefield.

The collaboration will result in a more comprehensive and advanced solution that meets the Armed Forces’ requirements, leveraging the partners’ specialisation, operational experience, and knowledge from previous deployments.

Indra and Escribano have previously collaborated on anti-drone systems and are set to participate in upcoming projects in 2025. They have also established a joint venture to develop a directed energy laser weapon system to counter drones.

With the support of TRC, the joint venture aims to strengthen its industrial base through an industrial plan that promotes the creation of national strategic capabilities, investment in R&D&I, and the positioning of the Spanish industry in Europe. The plan aligns with the principles of the DIS 2023 Defence Industrial Strategy.

The partnership marks the culmination of a cooperative effort that began at the NATO summit in July 2022, where the companies showcased their different C-UAS technologies. The strategic industrial partnership agreement signifies the companies’ commitment to collaborate on the development of advanced C-UAS technologies.
