IAI North America Now Separate P&L Unit

: Sep 23, 2019 - : 4:11 am

IAI North America, the US subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries, was made a separate Profit & Loss (P&L) unit of the company and now focuses on increasing the operations in the US mainly by acquiring US companies.

Until recently, IAI operated in the US mainly through some subsidiaries, like Stark but that has not resulted in better performance in the US market.

By making IAI North America a P&L, the management of IAI wants to make this subsidiary a more active body that will focus on using technologies developed by all IAI’s departments and divisions and offering them to American companies as the basis for a joint operation. This, to offer the US defense market unique systems, based on the vast Israeli operational experience.

“US Defense Industries will get an edge over the competition if they develop unique systems based on Israeli technology” said a senior defense source.

He mentioned the Elbit Systems pilot helmet that is manufactured in the US by the Israeli company and Rockwell Collins, as a good example for such use of high-end technology. This helmet is used in most of the US fighter aircraft.
